Test results are fed into a framework of weighted factors which produce an overall measure of suitability which corresponds to one of the standard descriptions, as follows:

- Light domestic
- Moderate domestic
- General domestic
- Heavy domestic
- Extra heavy domestic

The Quality Mark is only awarded to those products which have been tested and the results support the manufacturers claims for suitability for end use.
